About

The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) has developed the Media Manpower Plan to address the media manpower challenges and develop a future-ready workforce. The plan aims to deepen core skills of media professionals, enhance the media industry’s attractiveness, provide better support for media freelancers and partner with key industry players and industry associations.

SkillsFuture Study Award (Media)

The SkillsFuture Study Award is a monetary award to help Singaporeans equip themselves with the skills needed to benefit from quality jobs created by our economy.

Skills Framework for Media (SFw for Media)

The Skills Framework for Media, jointly developed by IMDA and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), supports media manpower strategies by identifying pivotal media job roles, outlining possible career pathways, and articulating existing and emerging skills for media professionals.

Talent Assistance (T-Assist)

Talent-Assistance (T-Assist) is an initiative under IMDA’s Media Manpower Plan that aims to strengthen the media capabilities of the local workforce.

Subsidised Mediation Service

In partnership with the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC), IMDA will provide subsidies to media freelancers and Singapore-registered companies to allow them to resolve their disputes through mediation at SMC, on issues such as late or non-payment for services rendered. This initiative aims to encourage a better work relationship between media freelancers and their clients.

Story Lab

The Story Lab initiative aims to bring together talent from different backgrounds to incubate story ideas and explore innovative ways to tell stories across various media platforms, from film to broadcast and even games.

WritersLab

WritersLab is an inaugural programme of the Story Lab by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). Organised by LASALLE College of the Arts (LASALLE), this intensive scriptwriting programme aims to push the boundaries of scriptwriting and storytelling for television and online platforms by nurturing and developing the skills of committed Singaporean film and television writers.

Tripartite Standard on Procurement of Services from Media Freelancers (TS Media Freelancers)

The Tripartite Standard on Procurement of Services from Media Freelancers (TS Media Freelancers) sets out to promote stronger working relationships between companies and media freelancers. By implementing these standards, companies will distinguish themselves as progressive hirers that freelancers look for.
